Volunteering is at the heart of Erskine Music & Media Studio so by giving up some of your time – you are not only gaining Reward Points – you are helping to keep our project a sustainable part of the community. Many of our young volunteers have used their experience to go onto further education and employment – some within our own project.
Erskine Music & Media Studio won a Young Scot Award 2017 in the Enterprise category in recognition of the amazing things that have been developed and run by and for young people. Find out more about that here.
Check out the video below to find out more about what we do.
In the past young people have volunteered to help with our beginner music classes teaching basic guitar and drums, helped with organising events run by EMMS, helped with PA and Lighting hires for events including Gala Days throughout Renfrewshire. Young volunteers get the chance to attend weekly meetings to voice ideas and new initiatives for the project as a whole.
Here are just some of the things we do that you could be involved with:
- Teaching basic guitar, bass or drums
- Supporting photography projects
- Supporting film and media projects
- Attending regular weekly meetings
- Helping with PA, Lighting and Film for live event hires
- Contributing to the EMMS Saltire Award scheme
We offer all volunteers access to the training they need and plenty of support along the way.
