Coming Soon: Digital ThinkTank in Volunteering

Great with technology and want to help others learn?  This is the volunteering opportunity for you.

Volunteering as part of the Digital ThinkTank can earn you Reward points on your Young Scot card under the Give to Get scheme.

This opportunity is currently being developed so check back for more information in future.

So what's it all about?

Well you might have some digital skills (maybe you don't even realise it!)  Maybe you are an expert on using social media platforms like Facebook or Twitter?  Or maybe you know the web like the back of your hand and how to get the most of it?  Perhaps tablets and hardware are more your thing.  Well, the Digital ThinkTank is about putting these skills to good use to help others who aren't so confident with technology.

We will be able to match you and others to digital related problems from various individuals and community groups across Renfrewshire to help solve them.  It could be anything from showing an elderly person how to Skype their relatives in another country to helping a community group make a good Facebook profile for themselves.

Along the way we will support you to recognise the skills you have and how best to share them with others (things like how to best communicate and help others learn)

What can I get for taking part?

In return for your efforts you could use your volunteering hours towards a nationally recognised Award, you can get Rewards points on your Young Scot National Entitlement Card (NEC), you get some great experience for your CV, you will learn some new skills and of course you get to know you have helped and make a difference to others.  What can be better than that?

Sound like your kind of thing?  We hope to launch the Digital ThinkTank very soon.  In the meantime if you would like some more information please contact Youth Services at
