Day 1: How Brain Science Helps Us All Have Better Relationships in Mind

It often feels like young people get tarred with the ‘bad rep’ brush. We can be stereotyped as lazy, loud or disengaged. But the reason young people can come across as different is because we are different! Our brain chemistry isn’t like that of babies, toddlers, children and adults because our brains and bodies are growing, developing and learning to help make us the best versions of ourselves.

As part of Year of the Young People 2018 and in collaboration with Young Scot, the Cyrenians’ Scottish Centre for Conflict Resolution (SCCR) will take you on a whirlwind tour through the wonderful world of your internal emotional self and the curious #CranialCocktail of chemistry that it fires up every time we feel something.

They reckon knowing this stuff can help you better understand yourself and those around you – and have a big impact on how you deal with conflict, with friends, parents and teachers. ‘Cause let’s face it, we’re not always going to get on with each other!
