Young Scot Awards 2017!
We’re buzzing for the Young Scot Awards (yes, already!) and we cannot wait to see all the amazing and inspirational things that young people in Scotland have been up to! Have you nominated somebody amazing ages 11-26 yet? Get going and nominate them now! Or why not check out all the fun from 2016's awards?
There’s so many films we are excited about next year... and so many opportunities to use your Young Scot discount at places like Cineworld and Vue! The Beauty and the Beast remake with Emma Watson starring as Belle, getting to see baby Groot in the Guardians of the Galaxy sequel, and Lego Batman in his very own movie – we’re spoiled for choice! Plus we’ve got aca-nother Pitch Perfect film to look forward to, as well as the sequel to super spy film Kingsman coming out too!
And there will be loads of exciting events happening across the country, from the World Badminton Championships coming to Glasgow to the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup in Fort William. You could check out Highland Games taking place near you, or check out the Edinburgh International Festivals for a mix of comedy, literature, theatre and dance!
Year of Young People!
Plus we’re all about looking ahead… did you know 2018 will be the Year of Young People? We’ve already had a couple of events with *you* at the centre of our planning for what’s set to be amazing year celebrating young people!
We love a good gig and there are a bunch of amazing artists coming to Scotland in 2017. We’re gonna try get one dance with Drake when he’s over… (we had to, sorry!). Plus we’re looking forward to getting our dancing shoes on when both Little Mix and Shawn Mendes come to Scotland! And we cannot wait to enjoy an orchestral spectacle as we hear the music from Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone live!
Some nights you’ve just got to curl up in front of the TV… and we’ve got loads to watch! As well as our everyday favourites likes Eastenders and Pointless, we’re looking forward to Sherlock finally being back on our screens, and enjoying Peter Capaldi’s time as the Doctor. We’re also super excited to see what the Stranger Things gang get up to in season 2 (#justiceforBarb).
