Where To Meet Other LGBT Young People in Identity

It can be nice to meet people who may have similar interests or stories, and going to an LGBT meet up can be a great way to meet people like you - even if you are still figuring out who you are!

It’s nice to have a mix of friends, but sometimes it can feel really good to be able to talk to somebody who just "gets" you - whether you are questioning your sexuality or are completely sure of it.

So why not look for LGBT meet ups in your area and go along? You could bring along a friend for support if you are a little nervous.

LGBT Youth Scotland’s site has a list of LGBT Youth Groups which are a great way to meet people like you. They offer lots of different things to do including gaining qualifications, learning to become more politically active or getting creative with arts and crafts - each group offers something a little different.

You can have a look at the list of events taking place on the LGBT health website , which includes social groups, health groups and arts groups.

Or have a look at Stonewall Scotland's What In My Area? section to find groups and LGBT services near you.

The Equality Network also has list of different LGBT groups who all have lots of events on. They also have a specific LGBT Young People category.

Or why not attend a Pride event? Pride is a celebration of the LGBT community and take place across the country - why not look for one near you? Lots also have activities and areas for young people.
