How it All Works
This vote has now closed
What was it all about?
Over £160,000 of funding is being allocated to youth work projects across Edinburgh, and young people have the opportunity to vote for their top three choices on where they think the money should be spent within each local area and on where it should be spent citywide.
If you're aged between 11 and 25 and live in Edinburgh, now is the time to get involved in making important decisions that will decide where funding is allocated!
The money has been split five ways to cover each of the four localities in Edinburgh and an amount for those projects which are for young people from all over the city.
The localities are:
- North West
- North East
- South East
- South West
- A separate vote for city wide projects
Within each locality, a number of organisations have made applications for funding to enable their youth work project to run.
Each young Scot, will be able to vote for three projects they think will most benefit their locality. You can also vote for three citywide projects.
When do you vote?
Voting will open on Monday 5 March at 9am and will close on Friday 16 March 2018 at 6pm. The results will be declared on our website, once the votes have been counted.
How do you vote?
Young people of school age will get the opportunity to vote at school during the voting period. You will use your 16 digit Young Scot card number or be issued a temporary number by your school if you don't have one.
Those with a young scot card need to log in twice to the two separate votes in order to vote for city wide projects and also their locality. If you are using temporary numbers you need to make sure you get two numbers and use the right one for the right vote
There will also be other opportunities to vote at events in each locality.
You can also vote from home using your Young Scot card number.
If you don’t have a Young Scot card, you can still vote.
Simply email: email@example.com with your name, date of birth, full address (including postcode) and email address and we’ll send you a temporary number.
