West Lothian Youth Congress Update
The West Lothian Youth Congress(WLYC) meet on Monday evenings 7pm - 9pm in Lindsay House Chambers every four to six weeks. The dates of the meetings for the next 3 months will be:
3rd November 2008 in the Chambers in Lindsay House (Bathgate)
12th January 2009 in the Chambers in Lindsay House (Bathgate)

Drop in club - West Lothian Young Scot introduces a new drop in for West Lothian Youth Congress members and for young people representing their secondary schools across West Lothian. This will be held in Lindsay House, South Bridge Street in Bathgate on Friday afternoons 1pm - 4pm. This club offers a space for young people to be creative and get involved in Young Scot activities and gain support and learn more about having your say through community planning structures. In you intend to come along please email or phone to let us know you are coming. Look forward to meeting you!

West Lothian Young Scot visited 2500 primary 7 pupils across West Lothian in May and June delivering the new Young Scot packs. There were over 600 Christmas card design competition entries. The winner was from Linlithgow Bridge Primary with their card with a reindeer on the front!
Well done and thank you to everybody who entered!

Calling all young people from Addiewell, Bathgate, Blackburn, Boghall, Seafield, Stoneyburn and Torphichen.
If you are interested there will be an opportunity to come along and learn about web journalism, learn interviewing techniques, how to write an article, meet new friends, network lunch and transport free of charge and there will be a chance to celebrate our achievements on the day with your articles going live on the site!
We then will celebrate with a game of team building - Bowling!

Attention!!!!
Calling all Secondary school Pupil councils in West Lothian. Did you know you have 2 spaces to represent yourselves and your area on West Lothian Youth Congress come and have your say and feedback to your school and community.
West Lothian Youth Congress will welcome new members and will be delighted to talk to you about what's happening to make West Lothian a better place to live. We are a friendly bunch of young people who enjoy hearing others opinions and views and carried them forward to aid change.
The West Lothian Youth Congress meet 10 times per year in Lindsay house, Bathgate from 7pm - 9pm. If you wish more information or wish to come along to one of our meetings please don't hesitate to contact us on the Young Scot address at the bottom of this page!

Joke Competition
We are running a new competition!
To get more jokes in the Lab we are running a joke competition for 12-25 year olds in West Lothian. We will pick a winning joke at the end of each month and the winner will win a mystery prize! All appropriate entries will be posted into the Lab section over on the right!
If you would like to enter the competition then send your entries to the e-mail address at the bottom of this page! You can enter as many jokes as you think people will have a good laugh at!

Podcasts
Podcasts The 'Free Ears' group from Broxburn worked with us to create a podcast! They were the lucky winners of a national competition and as a prize visited Talk 107 radio station in Edinburgh.
Hack Pack
Many of you have been trained as web journalists and will be keeping these pages updated with all your news. We also now have a Sports Journalist, Michael. He will keep you updated on the progress of Livingston Football Club next season.
If you would like to write for us on something you are interested in such as films, books or local news then please get in touch! We will help you out with any costs to do this.

West Lothian Youth Congress and MSYP's
West Lothian Youth Congress and the Scottish Youth Parliament
The Youth Congress is where young people come together to discuss issues affecting them and to tell service providers what they would like to see happening for all young people in West Lothian. The Congress is part of the Community Planning Partnership in West Lothian and is the platform to elect our 4 members to the Scottish Youth Parliament. At present Koren, Anna, David and Derek represent you at a national level. Check out the Scottish Youth Parliament Updates section of Features to discover what the SYP are up to at the moment!
