Scottish Parliament Petitions Committee - Frank McAveety
In January 2007 Young Scot accompanied a number of young people to the Microsoft Government Leaders Forum where they met with Gordon Brown and Microsoft Founder Bill Gates.
An appeal was made to allow young people to engage in the democratic process electronically so that it is more convenient for them. Young Scot presented this proposal to the Scottish Parliament Petitions Committee, and the committee head, Frank McAveety was so impressed that he asked our Vice Chair Rajiv Joshi to interview him. The interview can be heard by following the links to our podcast and more information can be found on the Scottish Parliament homepage at www.scottish.parliament.uk.
Frank McAveety says that he actively encourages petitions from young people – sounds like an open invitation to us…….
