Alcohol Fuel For Fire
An exciting new initiative - Alcohol Fuel for Fire ‘Young Person’s Media Campaign’ is currently underway in Angus. Based on the national Fuel for Fire Campaign currently targeted at 30 – 55 year olds, the young person’s media campaign aims to raise awareness and reduce the numbers of deaths and injuries due to the intake of alcohol by taking a proactive approach through targeting the 12 – 25 age group.
The campaign, developed by No 1 for Youth in partnership with Tayside Fire and Rescue and Tayside Council on Alcohol recruited young people from across Angus to develop mini soaps which were then recorded and broadcast on the Karen B Show over a 4 week period starting on Monday 23rd April.
Jennifer Miller, Senior worker at No 1 For Youth said ‘This has been a very exciting project and young people have been central to its success’. All of the young people involved thoroughly enjoyed recording their scripts at Radio Tay, even getting a wee tour of the studio’s and a goodie bag.
If you would like more information on any aspect of the Fuel for Fire project you can contact Jennifer Miller (Senior Community Learning & Development Worker) at No 1 for Youth on 01307 468859.
