Fancy yourself as Scotland’s next arts and entertainment TV journalist or producer?
Are you between the ages of 12 and 17?
Win the chance to join the Standard Life Festival backstage film production team for a day at the Edinburgh International Festival.
Standard Life Festival backstage goes behind the scenes of the Edinburgh International Festival to offer unique access and insights into the people and ideas behind the Festival.
Its special online hub was first launched last year for Festival enthusiasts around the world. www.eif.co.uk/festivalbackstage
Building on the success and popularity of Standard Life Festival backstage, this year the Festival and its partners Standard Life and Edinburgh Napier University are offering one lucky winner the opportunity to join the production team for a day during Festival 2012. It’s an amazing opportunity to pick up tips about being on camera, learn the challenges and adventure of filming, be on set, work with Festival staff and artists and become involved in creating a Festival backstage film.
Want to Win?
If you are aged between 12 and 17 then send us a short film reporting on your passion for or experience of something cultural or arty. It can be anything… your weekly dance class, your talented brother or sister, a concert you attended, last year’s Christmas panto, a poem you love, or your recent trip to the theatre for example.
We will host the best of your films on the Festival’s digital channels and a panel of experts will choose a shortlist of 6 entrants from which a winner will be selected to join Standard Life Festival backstage for a day during this year’s Edinburgh International Festival (9 August – 2 September).
In addition to the Standard Life Festival backstage day, the winner will also receive four tickets to a Festival show.
The other 5 shortlisted film-makers will also receive a pair of tickets to an Edinburgh International Festival show.
Upload your video (maximum length of 2 minutes) to Youtube and send the link to email@example.com. We will then add all the contenders to our online playlist at www.eif.co.uk/backstagecompetition
The deadline for entries is 12noon on 29 June 2012. A shortlist will be announced on 9 July. The winner will be announced on 13 July.
No previous experience required! We are looking out for young people with an ability to get across the story and illustrate why the subject is important to them. Rough and ready is fine.
Tell your friends about your film and get them to watch and like it online.
