Re-capture is a youth-led project that wants to inspire those who are experiencing an eating disorder to fight and recover. The project was started by a group of young people in Scotland who felt that more needed to be done to raise awareness about eating disorders.
The project started with a national call for young people to submit photographs of something that represents what recovery from an eating disorder means to them. From the photographs submitted, 12 have been chosen to form an exhibition that is being launched today at the City Art Centre in Edinburgh. As a project, Re-Capture hopes to raise awareness of recovery from an eating disorder as an individual and personal journey in which young people need to be actively involved.
