Want to win a digital camera and get your work featured on a Scottish Government website? Well with the Safer Scottish Government’s Safer Internet Day Competition you could do just that.
To mark Safer Internet Day on the 7th February, the Scottish Government is asking any young person under the age of 16 to come up with original and innovative ways to help other people think about staying safe online.
Safer Internet Day 2012 is all about Connecting different ages through the internet. So if you’re in secondary school you could think about ways to help young people in primary school stay safe online. If you’re in primary school you could work out how to help parents or grandparents think about online safety.
The Scottish Government is launching a new website on internet safety so your work might be chosen to feature on it.
What do you have to do?
Everyone uses the internet in different ways. Think about how different groups might use the internet and what risks they might come across.
Be creative! You could:
- Design a new logo or slogan for the website.
- Make a video to put up on youtube.
- You could design a new page for the Scottish Government’s “How to stay safe online” leaflet.
Who can take part?
Anyone under the age of 16 can take part. Adults who work with children and young people can enter resources they have designed for young people to explore issues around online safety.
