I was lucky enough to get the chance to visit Mark Millar, world renowned comic book writer. His most famous comic books, which have both been adapted into movies, are Kickass and Wanted.
Millar was born in Coatbridge and is 41 years old. He returned to Coatbridge Library on Tuesday the 18th of October for a Question and Answer session with his fans. It was extremely well attended, with about a hundred people seated into the room.
Unfortunately the room chosen for this evening proved to be inadequate and the sound was very bad at the beginning, although it did improve. It was also very difficult to see the proceedings from the back of the room.
Mark Millar did however, come across as a likable person who is unaffected by the enormous success he is achieving world-wide.
He answered all the questions asked of him in a friendly manner. At the end of the evening he spent a long time signing copies of his books and chatting to the large number of fans who were patiently waiting.
