Youth Forums
Local youth forums are your chance to have your say on issues that affect your life. Debates, discussions and actions at youth forums can affect decisions made at a local level, all the way up to the highest level in government. You can make a difference.
We look at all sorts of issues including:
- Local transport such as buses and trams
- Parks and graffiti
- Schools and after school activities
- Healthy eating and keeping fit
- Crime
- Sports facilities and clubs
You can choose how your local youth forum works and the issues the forum deals with.
We work closely with the 12 Neighbourhood Partnerships who are working to improve the quality of life in each area. So, the opinions and suggestions made at the Local Forum are important to them.
We build links with other organisations too. Such as:
- The Edinburgh Youth Issues Forum
- Pupil/student councils
- Scottish Youth Parliament
The Local Youth Forums are supported by youth workers fromyour local community learning and development team or youth organisation. To find out more information about your Local Youth Forum and how to join please get in touch with your local youth worker – contacts on next page.
