PODCAST...Have A Listen

Thanks to the young people from the Youth Outreach Radio Group in Kilmarnock Academy for their podcast. The group were exploring the issue of sectarianism in East Ayrshire. Listen to the Sectarianism in Ayrshire Podcast.

Equality Scheme

East Ayrshire has produced equality schemes and action plans for race, disability and gender. The schemes outline how the Council will ensure that in carrying out its various functions it will do so having due regard to eliminate unlawful discrimination and harassment and to promote equality of opportunity.

These Schemes can be viewed on the East Ayrshire Council website.

National Alcohol Awareness Week (5 – 11th October 2008)

Aged 18 or over? Will you take the challenge?

The aim of this year's National Alcohol Awareness Week is to raise awareness of units and sensible drinking. Look out for posters in your area, and to find out more information about alcohol, and take the challenge, go to the Alcohol Awareness Week website .

FREE Swimming - Young Scot National Entitlement Cards

If you are a Young Scot card holder or a NEC for Young People holder you can get free public swimming sessions at the following pools:

East Ayrshire's National Entitlement Card for Young People

The new National Entitlement Card for young people is a free electronic card for all young people aged 11 to 26. The card has been created by the Scottish Government, Young Scot, East Ayrshire Council and other organisations working together so that it's easier for you to use their services. To find out more about the card go to our Smartcards section.

Dialogue Youth Action Group

Dialogue Youth logoDo you want to have your say in what happens for young people in East Ayrshire? CHECK THIS OUT..................

Dialogue Youth East Ayrshire are looking for young people who want to have their say in what happens in the area when it comes to young people.

Do you think there isn’t enough to do, would you like more information on housing, do you fancy a rant about the smoking ban or do you just fancy posting some jokes or funny stories on the web? It’s up to you!!

As part of the Dialogue Youth Action Group this is what you can do, you will be part of a team who assist us in how we operate making sure that what we do is really what young people like yourself want. In return there will be opportunities made available for you to participate in “Hack Pack” training to update the Young Scot website, online journalism support, trips and visits, support to be part of the East Ayrshire Youth Forum, opportunities to gain awards such as the Duke of Edinburgh Award or accredited sports coaching certificates, the opportunities are endless because you have the power to decide.
