A team of young people from across Dumfries & Galloway have been recruited and trained by the Youth Issues as Inspectors in order to influence and improve services across the region. Young people visit libraries, youth provision and leisure & sport facilities and talk to young people and staff.
A report, including recommendations is then written up and an action plan agreed with services.
Other services have recruited the services of our Inspector8 team to evaluate the way they work with young people and to make improvements where necessary are Child Health, the Fire & Rescue Service, Educational Psychology Services, C2U/C4U clinics and Health Centres.
This is really encouraging for us – it shows that agencies are not only listening to what we have to say but are showing a real commitment to young people in Dumfries & Galloway!
