YOUNG SCOT IN CLACKMANNANSHIRE
The work of Young Scot continues to be developed in Clackmannanshire, with the cards being distributed to young people aged 11 – 25 years and the local web pages on the Young Scot web site www.youngscot.org/clackmannanshire
Clackmannanshire is developing their local card which will have the PASS hologram on which will make our card an official proof of age card. Working with Stirling Council will ensure that young people from Clackmannanshire will be entitled to the same discounts as young people from Stirling and vice versa.
You will be offered the card in 1st and 4th years within your local schools. Anyone not getting the card through the school should contact Culture and Community Services to ask for a card. Contact: Mary Fox (01259) 452356 or Morna Ramsey (01259) 452603.
Proof of Age
Do you need to prove your age to purchase certain goods, or get entry into that film that you want to see?
Thankfully the new Clackmannanshire card will have the PASS (proof of age standards scheme) hologram that allows you to get round these problems. The PASS logo is the new standard that gives shops and buses the confidence that the date of birth on your card is true and has been checked and verified.
We will be making sure that local retailers know to look for the logo on your card – they’ll check your date of birth and your picture. Remember that there are minimum ages for buying a whole range of goods and services. Check these out in your Young Scot book or on the Young Scot Law Channel.
