Argyll and Bute Youth Forum AGM Argyll and Bute Youth Forum recently held its Annual General Meeting at Inveraray Primary School. Thirty three young people travelled from across the area to attend the meeting and fun afternoon. There were lots of new faces as well as young people who have been involved for some time.
Argyll and Bute Youth Forum is a constituted organisation and has 32 members who have been elected by their peers to represent their views and concerns on decisions and services that affect them. The young people meet regularly in their local forums and come together as often as possible to work on specific projects.
Young people took part in a full day of activities including training on meeting skills, showing of the DVD produced from the Youth Forum residential, updates on work local youth forum have been involved in, an update on the progress of a Youth Festival the forum is hoping to hold in the summer; YouthBanks which the forum is establishing and training in, and a presentation on International Youth Exchanges by North Argyll Youth Forum. The afternoon was spent Paintballing, crossbow shooting and climbing at Argyll Adventure.
The forum has elected a Management Committee chaired by Kirsty Cairns from Campbeltown and will meet again in March.
