New MSYP elected

The election to select a new Member of the Scottish Youth Parliament was held on Tuesday 28th February.

The vacancy was in the Angus South constituency. Angus South contains the towns of Arbroath, Carnoustie, Monifieth, Kirriemuir and their surrounding areas.

A total of 848 votes were cast. Scott Ness from Carnoustie High School was elected with 477 votes ahead of Colleen Brown from Arbroath Academy with 336 votes. There were 35 spoilt papers.
