Hit the Road

What is Hit The Road?

Hit The Road is a project run by the Scottish Music Centre supported by Creative Scotland’s Youth Music initiative. Hit The Road gives 14 to 19 year old artists and bands the chance to launch themselves into the music industry with the winning acts taking part in a three date Scottish tour.

Why was the project set up?

The project aims to give young people a positive experience of touring to prepare them for future musical careers by assisting them in taking their music out of the practice room and on to the road.

What do the winners receive?

Winners will take part in a series of exclusive workshops, seminars and information sessions. They will receive expert advice from the likes of promoters, managers and personnel who will teach them the relevant skills to start their career.

The three winning bands will then put their new skills to the test on a tour performing to audiences across Scotland.
