The word "blog" is short for "web-log". A blog is an online personal diary or website where you can tell everyone how you feel, keep everyone up-to-date with your life and to share your thoughts and photos.
Some people use blogs, not so much as a diary, but to tell everyone about their main interest such as photography, fashion design or animation.
Your blog is personal to you, you can design it to look the way you want and write as often or as infrequently as you want to. There are lots of websites where you can set up your own blog for free – for example Blogger, WordPress and Live Journal but there are lots more - take a look at what’s on offer and choose the one that best suits your needs.
If you are really keen, you could buy your own webspace and download a blogging script – but you would need to pay for the domain name and the web hosting.
Be aware of what you share - it's maybe best to share images and videos that you own and not others.

Write about what you love
Don’t just follow trends. Read many different blogs to get ideas and write about what you love and about what you’d want to read. There will also be people who love it too.
Keep it simple
Before you start you should ask yourself about what you want to write and what’s the point of your post. Read through and ask yourself again when you have finished.
Pay attention to headers
You must be informative and creative to persuade people to click on your article.
Post a lot
Try to post daily – writing constantly is one of the main qualities of successful blogs
Make friends with other blogs
Comment other posts or feature them on your website. Paul Bradshaw advises: “People are interested in you if you are interested in them.”
Publicise it!
You should have an account on twitter specifically for your blog. Think about what makes people pay attention
The most important thing is that blogging should be fun for you and no effort at all!
