In 2006 we launched the very first Sunday Mail Young Scot Awards, and now five years on the event is bigger and better than ever.
On Thursday 29th April 2010 almost 600 people attended a glittering awards ceremony to recognise and celebrate the outstanding achievements of Scotland's young people.
Hosted by Romeo of Bauer Media, the event was a star-studded affair with chart-topper Lemar performing along with pop-duet Mini Viva. Hot new Scottish singer Alex Gardiner also took to the stage and guests were also entertained by 'Sky's Got Talent', runner up - The Box and young people from Glasgow Academy of Music Theatre Arts.
But the main stars of the evening were the young people who wowed the audience with their incredible courage, ambition and determination. The Young Scot Awards are our chance to recognise and celebrate the young people who are doing amazing things all over Scotland every day.
